Caribbean Beach Resort at Walt Disney World

Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is my new favorite moderate resort! Offering the best of both convenience and atmosphere, this resort lives like a deluxe getaway at a moderate price!

We recently traveled to Walt Disney World during Spring Break of 2021. Our go-to Disney resort has not yet re-opened since the pandemic closures in 2020. We opted for the Caribbean Beach Resort and were pleasantly surprised at it becoming our new favorite! Discover the benefits of this resort and 3 reasons you should consider a stay during your family's next magical trip to Walt Disney World!

Tropical colors and coastal vibes feel like a perfect match for the sunny days and warm temperatures of central Florida. If you prefer a village-like setting you will love this resort! Each village is made up of two story buildings that look more like homes than a hotel. We love the secluded feel of each building tucked into palm trees and lush gardens.

Pirate Themed Pool

Our sons loved the theming of the main pool at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort! This pool is the only of the moderate resorts with zero entry perfect for little ones. There is also an elaborately themed splash area with a bucket that dumps gallons of water from a pirate ship onto squealing kiddos. Our boys were too tall for this area but would have loved it during their preschool years. For younger kiddos there is a short slide into the main pool and for older children there is a long tunnel slide set in a turret of the Spanish fort that empties into the pool opposite the short slide. There are plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas for adults as well as a hot tub. Each neighborhood of this resort also has it's own quiet pool which we enjoyed as well.

Pirate Themed Rooms

On this trip, we splurged for a pirate themed room in the Trinidad section of the resort. The two full sized beds are designed to look like pirate ships and delighted our sons. The room theming nods to all things Jack Sparrow including the map on the carpet and rum barrel fridge. We found the size of the room to be adequate for a family of four since we spent most of our time in the parks or at the pool and very little time in our room. If you have a family of five, I would not opt for a pirate themed room as these rooms do not have the additional pull down bed which Disney calls a fifth sleeper.

Proximity to Epcot and Hollywood Studios

We were so spoiled by the skyliner on this trip. The main station for Disney's gondola system at Caribbean Beach is directly across from the Trinidad section of the resort. The skyliner takes you directly to Hollywood Studios or Epcot from the resort. We drove to the parks in the morning to avoid lines at the skyliner and at the bus stations. Then we returned to the resort to enjoy a break from the crowds and go for a swim. Traveling to and from the parks by skyliner in the afternoon and evening was a breeze. No waiting and beautiful views of Caribbean Beach and Epcot's Spaceship Earth!

Don't miss this resort on your next Walt Disney World vacation! We hope to see it again soon!

Happy planning! - Amy
